New Quick Tips to Make Your Life Easier

  • If the hanger breaks on the back of a picture, replace it with a soda can tab and hot glue.
  • Keep old toothbrushes to use as scrub brushes for small areas.
  • Store plastic grocery sacks in a paper tube from a paper towel roll. It keeps them all together and manageable. If the roll gets too full, take your extra plastic sacks to your local grocery store. Many, like Wal-mart, have recycling bins for used sacks just inside the door.

How to Trap Flies

Just leave a little sauce in the bottle and leave it open in an area the flies are bothering you, like at a cookout, and in an hour they will be trapped in the bottle.

Tips for Work-At-Home Moms

1. Make a special area for your kids beside your work area. Fill it with toys, coloring books, crayons, and other things that your child likes and encourage him to play while you work.
2. Let your child “write” too. Give your child a small pad of paper and a pencil, then let her go wild. Even if your child can’t really write yet, she will still get satisfaction out of being like mommy or daddy.
3. Take regular play breaks. Give your tot, and your mind, a break and play your child’s favorite game for a few minutes.

More Defrazzeled Tips

  • Don’t buy those expensive steaming bags for veggies! You can get the same results by poking a hole in the frozen vegetable bag and putting it in the microwave on defrost for 1.5 pounds, then microwave on high for about three minuets.  The vegetables will come out very tender.

  • Is laundry over-flowing the hamper and company’s coming? Gather the excess laundry and throw it in the washer. You sort and wash it later, right now it’s hiding!

  • A fast way to reduce clutter is to to go on clutter patrol. Grab a couple plastic grocery bags, one for trash and one for things to put away and start filling them up. When they are full, throw away the trash bag and put the things in the put away bag where they go.

Two Kitchen Tips

Here are a couple tips I’ve picked up over the years:

* When separating meat to put in the freezer do all of your cutting and wrapping on the plastic grocery bag the meat came in. Toss the bag when you are done. No mess!

* Clean a greasy, dusty appliance by holding it over hot steam for one minuet (unplugged, of course) and wipe with clean cloth.

For Her Heel Liners

Dr. Shoal’s For Her Heel Liners Okay, I’ve tried the Dr. Shoal’s For Her Heel Liners and I have to say…mmm…

They have a nice jelly like quality to them and only cover the heel bottom of your shoe.

They really do cushion your foot and support it when your are in heels. I placed them in a pair of dress shoes to wear to a funeral and my feet felt great the whole day.

I highly recomend this product!

There are also Ball of Foot Cushions that can be used with the heel liners.

Stains on Children’s Clothing Tips

My kids are stain makers! I stress every time I see them drink Kool-Aid. Here are a few tips I use to combat stress and and stains.

*Buy your kids clothes with colorful patterns. Patterns hide stains and still look great. (See the pic of my daughter in her stain hiding shirt!)Savanna in stain hiding shirt.

*Hide stained shirts under overalls, sundresses, and tanktops.

*”Fix” a stained shirt by letting your child use fabric paint to make colorful designs on the shirt. Or let them tie-dye it.
